What is Fairhaven?

  • We are a county organization...one of 88 across Ohio.

  • Our legal name is Trumbull County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

  • We are governed by the Ohio Revised Code.

  • We are advised by the Ohio Department of MRDD.

  • We have an appointed 7-member Governing Board 

  • (5 Commissioner and 2 Probate Judge appointments).

 

Who do you serve?

  • Citizens of Trumbull County (at no cost).

  • Children birth-2 who have a developmental delay.

  • Children 3-21 who meet the special education criteria of the Ohio Department of Education.

  • Adults with a diagnosed disability before the age of 22 who have at least 3 functional limitations in self care, language, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living, learning and economic self-sufficiency.  (The sole diagnosis, however, cannot be mental illness).

 

How many people do you serve?

     

      Approximately 1,100 people.

 

 

What ancillary services do you offer?

  • Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapies.

  • Residential Supports/Transportation/Health Services.
