The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities is valued by our community and viewed as a leader in the field of disabilities by providing innovative and state-of-the-art services.
 

Mission
The board, leadership, and employees of the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities are steadfast in maintaining and creating programs and services that meet the unique needs of individuals and their families.

Philosophy
The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities believes the following philosophy applies to all individuals receiving services and its employees. We believe:

All are treated with dignity and respect at all times.

All are entitled to rights inherent to the individual.


No one is referred to by his or her disability, nor should he or she be labeled in any way.

Natural supports, including family and friends, are identified to promote expectations of independence and community inclusion.

Confidentiality is assured.

Commitment to partnerships and collaboration is critical to our success.

The services we provide are an integral part of the community.

 

Responsible citizenship is supported
Parents, guardians and/or eligible enrolled individuals have a right to provide valued input into an individual plan that is consistent with available resources and provides for the least restrictive environment.

Decisions at all levels are fiscally conservative and accountable to the taxpayers of Trumbull County, Ohio, and the United States of America. It is our responsibility to educate individuals that with decisions come consequences and in making decisions we encourage the most efficient use of available resources.

Health and safety are ensured.
