FAIRHAVEN FOUNDATION OF TRUMBULL COUNTY

Thanks to the voters’ choice to provide revenue from ongoing tax levies, our citizens with disabilities are provided with the finest programs and a skilled professional staff during the day to enable optimum learning and self-sufficiency through the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Believing there is another level to the fully accomplished life — one that public dollars are not intended to provide — the Fairhaven Foundation was formed as a nonprofit corporation with the mission to enhance the lives of developmentally disabled children, adults, and seniors eligible for services from the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities or other day habilitation programs.

The Foundation focuses on abilities: what people with disabilities can do.  For encouragement we award grants to increase social and recreational opportunities; for buying supplies for hobby activities; paying fees for classes or lessons or joining a club; providing transportation costs for special events; funding registration fees for special conferences, or arranging visits to friends and family.  We also have funding available to help cover emergency situations, quality of life issues, and a grocery fund to assist with food.

Foundation activities encourage people to enjoy life by sponsoring events such as the Journey of Hope Friendship Visit, participation in the Scrappers Niles Community Day game, and the Holiday Movie Day.

You can help! Make a tax-deductible donation, sponsor a project, become a volunteer, or remember the Fairhaven Foundation in your will.  And our Tree of Life is a perfect way to establish a lasting memorial to a loved one while benefiting the Fairhaven Foundation Endowment Fund. The board, leadership, and employees of the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities are steadfast in maintaining and creating programs and services that meet the unique needs of individuals and their families.
