RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT
All County Board employees, board members, physicians, psychologists, medical practitioners, dentists, podiatrists, nurses, employees of health organizations, child welfare workers, social workers, teachers, attorneys, police, coroners, clergy, advocates, and employees of any public or private providers of services and others according to Ohio Revised Code 5123.61 and 5123.99, are mandated to report suspected major unusual incidents.
A Major Unusual Incident (MUI), (5123:2-17-02 Ohio Administrative Code (OAC)), means an alleged, suspected, or actual occurrence of an incident when there is reason to believe the health and safety of an individual may be adversely affected or an individual may be placed at a reasonable risk of harm. This definition of an MUI applies to individuals receiving services through the Developmental Disability (DD) service delivery system or will be receiving services as a result of an incident.
Incidents of possible abuse, misappropriations or neglect as defined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 5123.61 shall be reported to local law enforcement of jurisdiction, Children Services Board (21 years or younger) and the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities (TCBDD). The board, leadership, and employees of the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities are steadfast in maintaining and creating programs and services that meet the unique needs of individuals and their families.
