PROFILE

What is Fairhaven?
Our formal name is the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities. We are a county organization, one of 88 across Ohio, that provides services and support to physically and/or mentally impaired and/or disabled individuals and their families.

We are governed by the Ohio Revised Code.
We are advised by the
Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
We have an appointed 7-member Governing Board (5 appointed by county
commissioners and 2 by the Trumbull County Probate Court).

We serve:

Trumbull County children age birth to 2 years of age with developmental delay, and those age 3-21 who meet the special education criteria of the
Ohio Department of Education.

Adults with a disability that was diagnosed before the age of 22 who have at least three functional limitations in self care, language, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living, learning, and economic self-sufficiency. (The sole diagnosis, however, cannot be mental illness).

Currently, we are serving approximately 1,100 people.
We also offer these ancillary services:
Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapies
Residential Supports/Transportation/Health Services.

We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, ≈ an independent, non-profit organization that reviews facilities and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally according to a rigorous standard.
